Events
The Grafters Club holds different fun events throughout the year. Below is a list of four different exciting events we run that you and your family could attend if you are a member.
1) Burn Camp
One of the highlights of the year is when a group of children have the opportunity to go away on a residential trip for a weekend. This involves staying away from home, which can be very exciting! They will meet children who have been through similar situations, be able to talk and share experiences. Most importantly of all the children have lots of fun! There will be lots of different activities to take part in. For example;
wall climbing, canoeing, archery, caving, zip wire, obstacle course, giant swing!
Members of The Grafters Club will be invited to apply for a place nearer to the time of the trip. Look out for further details of this in the Telegraft newsletter!
2) Family Focus Weekend
Each year families from regional sites attend a Family Weekend Programme. The programme is focused on post burn care and support for the whole family along with relaxation and therapy. It enables families with burn injured children to meet one another and share experiences within a structured therapeutic programme. Children are able to meet other children who have been injured and take part in fun activities together. It helps children who are burned and their families feel less isolated. Families feel supported and are able to develop important coping strategies for life after a burn.
3) Family Trips
Every year the club has a family day out. It is the perfect opportunity for children and families to meet. Most importantly everyone has a really good time.
Look out in the Telegraft for details of our family trips!!
4) Christmas party
At Christmas the club holds a party for children and their families. There is food, games, face painting and a disco. Details will be published in the Telegraft.
